可數名詞都有單數和復數之分。

　　規(guī)則的可數名詞的復數變化規(guī)則：

　　1.一般情況加 s ： book-- books mouth---mouths house---houses girl---girls

　　2.以 s 、 sh 、 ch 、 x結尾的加 es ： class--- classes box----boxes match----matches

　　3.輔音字母 + y結尾的變 y為 i加es： city---cities country----countries party----parties factory----factories

　　4.以 o 結尾的詞 +es的只有以下詞 ：heroes Negroes tomatoes potatoes zeroes/zeros以 o 結尾并且詞尾有兩個元音字母 +s radios, zoos, bamboos ,(pianos ,kilos photos)

　　5.以f， fe 結尾的 變f或fe為v +es ： thief wife life knife wolf half leaf shelfThe thief’s wife killed three wolves with some leaves and knives in half of her life.
